...I read this...
"If you limit your choices only to what seems possible or reasonable, you disconnect yourself from what you truly want, and all that is left is a compromise. " - Robert Fritz
Don't we all??!

@GSharma: I don't agree with you completely. Coz that means no one ever is or ever will be happy! I'd hate to think like that.
Every thing always isn't a compromise...I mean depends what you mean by happiness. Whether its log term/short term. And its acheivable. No matter what.
I tried to help the Tsunami victims, even though I'm thousands of Kms away, I did my bit...as I'm sure many many hundereds of thousands others did.
It dosen't have to be a 'huge amount' to make a difference. Every single penny counts!!
but if we disconnect from compromises, we might be left only with ourselves
veryy true .. and those who do not disconnet are the ones who achieve something :)
But do we really know what we truly want? How many times it has happened that you got something you desired.. and somewhere down the line found that you perhaps didn't want it!
Hi Nupur,
Don't we all wish that we don't have to do any compromises in life. Some people don't and to me it does'nt buy all of them happiness either so it's all good...:))

@Manu: Yes...that is the 'other' point of view.
@Surinder: Exactly... you give some - you get some!
At the end of the day...I reckon it depends how bad you want, what it is you want. And if you are willing to sacrifice or compromise!!!
I say it all... but I'm probably the first ones to get depressed and fall into the self-pity trap at times.....
@Sumit: That is a totally different argument all together, isn't it?
Here we mean what you want - when you want it. What happens later ...that just 'human'.
@Ricky: Its all in the 'mind'. What one may think is a compromise might be the best thing that ever happenend for the other!
So....if its second best and you know you can do better, then go for it! But if its is the best from you..then sit back, relax and enjoy!
No..?!
Hey Nupur,
Safin Rules! ha ha. On more serious note, I agree with you and I know that everything in life is not a compromise nor it should be, otherwise life would not be what it's meant to be (read fun). Also, if the compromise makes someone you love happier then it's not a bad thing once in a while.
I can see why this thought stuck on you coz generally in India people tend to say "Oh, marriage is all about compromise" though I believe if the person you are marrying is the right one then "Marriage is all about the fact that you won't have to make compromises anymore"...:))
